Working at JIS

Teachers are recruited worldwide but most of the current staff are from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Vacancies are advertised in major newspapers including The Times Educational Supplement, The Australian, The Age and on the web pages of agencies and organizations assisting in international school placements. These include ECIS (European Council of International Schools, Teacher Recruitment International and other international teacher recruitment organisations.

Teachers are normally offered two year extendable contracts. Recruitment of new staff takes place in January of each year and appointed teachers will be expected to take up their positions before the commencement of the new academic year in the middle of August.
