SCHOOL FEES
ACADEMIC YEAR 2008/2009
Application Fee
An application fee of B$200.00 per student is payable when the Application for Admission Form is submitted to the Registrar. This fee is non-refundable and covers the administrative work involved in processing an application. Students who have left the School but intend to return to JIS are required to repeat the application process and pay the application fee. Payment of this fee does not guarantee admission.
Deposit
The deposit is refundable when the student leaves the School, PROVIDED ALWAYS that all outstanding bills have been paid in full and advance written notice of withdrawal of not less than eight (8) school working weeks is given to the School. The School reserves the right to deduct any outstanding bills from the Deposit Fee when the student leaves the School.

Annual Facility Fee

Tuition Fee, Boarding Fee and Bus Fee
Tuition Fees do not include external examination fees, stationery or textbooks purchases, the After School Care Club, Instrumental Music tuition, Intensive Language Programme/SEN fees and school trips.
Students joining the School and the Boarding House at anytime during the first two weeks of a semester are required to pay the tuition fees, boarding fees and bus fees for the whole semester. Students joining the School and the
Boarding House at anytime after the first two weeks of a semester will be required to pay the whole semester’s tuition fee, boarding fee and bus fee on a pro rata basis. Parents will be credited tuition fees, boarding fees and bus fees for each unattended week calculated on the following basis:

This figure is then subtracted from the whole semester’s tuition fee. For instance, if a student of Year 7 misses the first five weeks of term, the tuition fees will be $6,960 – ($348 x 5) = $5,220.

In order to be eligible for the Concessionary Fee*, a student’s original birth certificate and parents’ identity cards must be presented to the Accounts Department.

Due Dates for the Payment of Fees
All Fees shall be payable five (5) days before the start of each semester. The Fees are calculated from 1st August of each Academic Calendar Year.
The Deposit Fee shall be payable together with the Facility Fee, Boarding Fee, Bus Fee & Tuition Fee in the first semester of the first academic year in which the student is enrolled.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) who would like to pay Tuition Fees on a monthly basis may make a written application to the Accounts Department. All monthly Tuition Fee payments shall be payable in the first week of each month.
A discount of 2% shall be given if payment of a whole year’s Tuition Fee is made by the first complete week of an academic year.
Late Payment Fees at the rate of 1.5% per month shall be chargeable on any outstanding fees.
Students, whose outstanding bills have not been settled in full by Parent /Guardian by the end of each semester of an academic year, shall not be accepted into class after the mid term break until the said account is settled in full. The students may also be unable to sit for any examinations. The School will not provide leaving certificates, school reports and release examination results until all outstanding bills have been settled in full.
Parents(s)/Guardian(s) will be invoiced for the Tuition Fees, Bus Fees and Boarding Fees twice a year as follows:
Invoice for Semester 1 – in June/July
Invoice for Semester 2 – in December/ January
A Statement of Account will be issued to Parent(s)/Guardian(s) at the end of each month and distributed through the students.
Parents can request the School Accounts Department to send invoices payable by companies directly to the company address by post.
Payment Method
All fees may be paid in cash or by cheque addressed to “Jerudong International School Sdn Bhd” (post dated cheques are not acceptable) or through HSBC internet banking. All bank charges shall be borne by the remitter.

If payment is made through HSBC internet banking, please enter your schools fees reference number as stated in the invoice/ account statement for our reference. If you cannot remember the reference number, you can also enter your child (ren)’s full name for our reference.
Intensive Language Programme & Learning Support
An additional fee of B$1,000 per school term shall be chargeable for students who are beginner English language speakers and require an Intensive Language programme.
An additional fee of B$1,000 per school term shall be chargeable to parents whose children have been assessed by an educational psychologist or the support needs are above and beyond that which can be provided by the Language and Learning Support Faculty.
Instrumental Music Tuition
Students will be able to enrol in the School’s Instrumental Music Programme, for which additional fees shall be chargeable. Withdrawal Policy
Notice of intention to withdraw students from the School or the Boarding House or the use of bus must be made in writing and given to the School’s Admission Office, at least eight (8) school working weeks(exclude term breaks and school holidays) before the intended withdrawal date. This requirement is applicable irrespective of the time of withdrawal, including at the end of any academic year. For example:
If adequate written notice has been given, for each unattended teaching week remaining in the semester, a pro-rata credit of the Tuition Fees, Boarding House Fees or Bus Fee will be made based on the following basis for unattended weeks.

It should be emphasised that the annual fee is due in full for students in Year 11, 12 & 13, regardless of the fact that the final term is disrupted by examinations.
If a student leaves the School without giving adequate notice, a Penalty Fee, calculated from the date that inadequate notice was given based on the rates stated on page 5 of this document, shall be levied and charged to the final invoice of the student account.
Brunei Government Education subsidy
Students whose parents are entitled to apply for the Brunei Government Education subsidy must submit the Education Allowance Application Form directly to the Treasury Department through the parents’ respective Ministries. Please note that the Treasury Department requires parents to submit the Education Allowance Application Form annually together with the Certificate of Enrolment, issued by the School two (2) months before the start of every academic year.
The Certificate of Enrolment can be obtained from Mrs Chong Hyen Seem (Student Centre) or Miss Esther Tang (Junior and Middle School Office) by giving a copy of the parents’ Brunei Identity Card.

Parents who do not receive a full education allowance subsidy are responsible for paying the balance of the tuition fee.
Parents must pay full fees initially until such time as the education allowance is received by the School. The School will refund fees to parents once the School receives payment from the Treasury Department.
