Students at Jerudong International School achieved some very creditable results in this year’s A-level examinations. The pass rate was 99.4% with 37.2% of the passes at A grade, 62.2% at A or B grades and 84.1% at A, B or C grades. Eight students gained straight As.

Those students who took Further Mathematics and Accounting all gained As. Students achieved an A or a B in particular subjects as follows: History and Economics (80%); Music (100%); Mathematics (76%); Chemistry (73%); Biology (69%); Physics (54%); Psychology (68%); Art and Design (62%); Drama (66%) and English Literature (57%).

In the advanced extension award three students gained a Distinction or a Merit in Chemistry and one achieved a distinction in History.

At AS level the pass rate was 84.8% with the best results in French and Further Mathematics. All entries in these subjects were classed at A grade.

Students have met their offers for entry to Imperial College, University College London, the London School of Economics, Warwick, Manchester, Salford and Nottingham universities. One student already has a place at Harvard.

GCSE Results

Year 11 students at Jerudong International School achieved the best GCSE results in the nine year history of the school. 44.2% of the results were at A* (18.5%) or A (25.7%), 88. 6% at A* to C and 99.6% at A* to E. (The corresponding percentages in 2004 were 36.1% A* and A, 82.2% A* to C and 97.2% A* to E).

There were some excellent results in individual subjects: 42% A* or A in Science; 58% A* or A in First Language English; 43% A* or A in English Literature; 49% A* or A in Mathematics; 100% As in Statistics; 73% A* or A in Music; 62% As in Business Studies.
